African Paediatric Fellowship Programme

📌 Overview

KwaZulu-Natal is home to over 4.2 million children, yet our paediatric healthcare system is overwhelmed by a high disease burden and a shortage of specialists. The African Paediatric Fellowship Programme (APFP), established in 2017 at UKZN, empowers doctors with specialist and subspecialist skills to build sustainable, high-quality healthcare for children across the province and beyond.

🎯 Project Goal

APFP’s goal is to strengthen paediatric healthcare by training more paediatricians and subspecialists in collaboration with the University of KwaZulu-Natal and Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital. By increasing the number of trained professionals, the programme aims to provide equitable and quality care to every child, particularly in underserved communities.

💡 Why Your Support Matters

Every child deserves access to quality healthcare. Your donation helps train doctors who will serve in high-need areas, ensuring no child is left behind due to a lack of medical expertise. Together, we can ease the strain on the public healthcare system and create a healthier, more hopeful future for millions of children in KwaZulu-Natal.
