Prof Ncoza Dlova Medical Student Fund

📌 Overview

The Prof Ncoza Dlova Medical Student Fund is a call to action by UKZN’s Head of Clinical Medicine to support financially struggling students at the Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine. This initiative aims to assist students burdened by historic debt or unable to afford annual registration fees — ensuring that future doctors can complete their training and serve our communities.

🎯 Project Goal

The goal is to raise funds to help reduce the significant student debt at the Medical School, currently estimated at R33,812,368.07. Funds raised will go towards clearing student debt and contributing to registration fees, ultimately enabling more students to continue their studies uninterrupted.

💡 Why Your Support Matters

Be part of shaping South Africa’s next generation of doctors. Many gifted students face exclusion simply because they cannot afford tuition or registration fees. With your support, we can ensure they stay in class, graduate, and return to uplift communities through healthcare. Your donation is not just a gift — it’s a legacy.

🎁 How You Can Help

You can make a difference by:

  • Once-off donations toward student debt
  • Monthly giving to support ongoing student needs
  • Business or alumni pledges as part of corporate social responsibility or giving back
  • Legacy gifts or bursary naming opportunities

All donations are tax-deductible under Section 18A, and acknowledgement letters will be provided.
