The Tumelo Seliane Education Fund (TuSEF) honours the legacy of a compassionate UKZN medical student, Tumelo Seliane, who overcame financial hardship to serve others. Created by the MBChB Class of 2015, this fund ensures that academically deserving medical students in their clinical years (4–6) are not excluded due to financial difficulties.

TuSEF’s core mission is to eliminate financial exclusion for UKZN medical students by providing tuition assistance, groceries, learning materials, and registration support. The current goal is to raise R1 million to establish a sustainable endowment fund and continue supporting students well into the future. Upcoming initiatives include a fund re-launch, a fun run fundraiser, and a 10-year class reunion drive.
Your contribution keeps a dream alive. Tumelo Seliane was a servant leader who gave selflessly to fellow students despite facing exclusion himself. His story embodies resilience, hope, and community. Every donation to TuSEF helps carry forward his legacy—ensuring no student is left behind simply because they cannot afford to stay in school. Your support strengthens South Africa’s future healthcare system, one student at a time.
