📌Overview
The UKZN Medics Legacy Fund is an initiative of the MBChB Class of 2005 which aims to support students at the Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine who face financial barriers. This fund ensures that promising medical students, who might otherwise be held back by tuition fees or living costs, can continue their studies and go on to strengthen South Africa’s healthcare system.
🎯 Project Goal
Our aim is to ease the financial pressures that threaten students’ progress by:
- Covering tuition shortfalls and registration fees
- Supporting students with historic debt
- Providing much needed mentorship to guide their career development
Through this fund, we are enabling future doctors to complete their training without interruption and to contribute meaningfully to their communities.
💡 Why Your Support Matters
Access to medical education should not depend on financial privilege. By supporting the UKZN Medics Legacy Fund, you are:
- Giving talented students the chance to finish their medical degrees
- Contributing to the development of healthcare professionals who will serve communities nationwide
- Creating a lasting impact in the lives of students and the health of our nation
🎁 Ways to Contribute
You can help shape the future of medicine by:
- Making one-time contributions to support student needs
- Committing to monthly donations to provide ongoing support
- Encouraging corporate or alumni pledges as part of social responsibility initiatives
All contributions are tax-deductible under Section 18A, and formal acknowledgment will be provided to every donor.
