This dynamic partnership will ensure that DIFF remains a vibrant and growing platform for filmmakers from underrepresented communities while promoting KZN and South Africa%u2019s cultural wealth to the world.The next three years promise to be a transformative period for DIFF, with the KZN Tourism and Film Authority%u2019s support helping to secure its future as a leading film festival on the global stage.The 2024 UKZN Annual This year, the University of KwaZulu-Natal awarded more than R50 million worth of scholarships to 1%u00a0 289 top-performing undergraduate and postgraduate students in honour of their achievements.%u00a0 The top 82 students received their awards at the University%u2019s annual Scholarships Awards ceremony held on Wednesday, 21 August %u2013 among them were 72 who had excelled academically and 10 who had demonstrated exceptional sporting abilities.%u00a0SCHOLARSHIP AWARDSZac Yacoob Scholarship Recipient Shoots for the Stars!Ms Saarisha Govender, a young academic powerhouse, has recently been awarded the prestigious Zac Yacoob Scholarship to complete her Bachelor of Science final-year studies.%u00a0The scholarship is named after Judge Zakeria (Zac) Yacoob, a former Constitutional Court judge of distinction and the last Chancellor of the former University of Durban-Westville, and goes to the single best honours%u2019 student in the University.%u00a0From an early age, Govender has consistently excelled in her academics. Her remarkable track record, which includes over 50 academic awards and two Dux awards during her primary and high school years, is a testament to her intellectual capability and determination. This foundation of excellence propelled her to enrol for a Bachelor of Science degree at UKZN, specialising in the Mathematics stream with majors in Physics and Astronomy.%u00a0Some of the proud scholarships awardees and guests at this year%u2019s annual Scholarships Awards ceremony.
